Ryuji Fukuda

Ryuji Fukuda is one the world’s most highly qualified experts in the field of industrial engineering, stockless productions, and quality improvement. In 1978 he was honored with the prestigious Japanese Deming Prize for his contribution in the field of productivity and quality improvement. After a distinguished career with leading Japanese firms, including nearly 30 years at Sumitomo Electric, he has served as a consultant to the Japan Management Association and to major firms in Japan, North America, and Europe (including Fiat, Michelin, Philips, and Volvo). Fukuda is the author of numerous publications, including Managerial Engineering and Cedac: A Tool for Continuous Systemic Improvement (Corporate Leadership).

 

CEDAC :

(Cause and Effect Diagram with the Addition of Cards) links corporate and plant strategic plans with specific improvement activities. It is a simple approach to using Cause-Effect Diagrams with Post-it Notes or 3″ x 5″ cards for the causes, thus allowing shuffling around of the causes and also letting several people participate simultaneously.
